(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway has been subjected to thunderstorms and standing water on the track and pits for most of the 2013 season.
The storms that have wreaked havoc with much of the Midwest have forced Macon Speedway to once again cancel its Saturday
night racing program on June
postponing the Armed Forces Night
sponsored by Dynagraphics
to a later date.
“This is a major disappointment. Macon Speedway is ready for racing and we can’t wait for everyone to see just how great our shows will be,” states promoter Bob Sargent. “We are looking forward to some nice warm, dry weather next weekend to finally get this season off and running.”
Macon Speedway’s high-action weekly racing features five U.M.P. divisions: Late Model, Billingsley Towing’s Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock, 4-cyl. Outlaw Hornets and non-sanctioned stock hornets.
Racers and fans can look forward to a few blessings from area pastors next Saturday
when Macon Speedway hosts the Faster Pastor Night of Racing. They will take to the 1/5 mile oval track in 4-cyl. Hornet cars racing for the title of “Faster Pastor”. Special admission pricing is available for congregations and youth groups coming out to Macon Speedway to support their pastor.
Next week also kicks off the 1st Annual POWRi Midget Week featuring the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midgets and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micros starting on Thursday, June 6 at Jacksonville Speedway; Friday, June 7 at Lincoln Speedway; Saturday, June 8 at Macon Speedway; and finishing out at Vermillion County Speedway on Sunday, June 9. Racing starts at 7 pm each night.
Mark your calendars for June 13 when Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will be at Macon Speedway for NASCAR Night II. The co-owners of Macon Speedway will be competing against Macon’s best for a thrilling night of racing! The Midwest Big Ten UMP Late Models series will also be racing that night.
