POWRI Doesn’t Disappoint!

With a packed house, the POWRi Series did not disappoint. With over 150 cars in all six divisions, it was an exciting night of racing.
In the POWRi Midgets feature, Brady Bacon took the win, with Tyler Thomas in second and Thomas Meseraull coming in third.
In the POWRi Micro Sprints, Dereck King finished first with Cale Thomas in second. Central Illinois was very well represented in the top ten with Nic Harris from Atlanta coming in fourth, Max Pozsgai from Lincoln in fifth, and Jeremy Camp from Blue Mound in sixth.
Gene Reed finished first in the UMP Street Stock feature. Marty Sullivan took first in the UMP Amatuer Hornet feature and Jeff Graham won his first ever UMP Modified feature tonight at Macon Speedway.
Next weekend Macon Speedway will host the “Raminator”, sponsored by Bob Brady Auto Mall on Saturday and NASCAR Stars will be here on Memorial Day, Monday May 27. Don’t miss it!

Alan Weisser, First time winner at Macon Speedway Season Opener

ms.4.6modFor the 67th consecutive year of racing at the Famed 1/5 mile, Macon Speedway kicked off Saturday night with the Spring Fling. A great night of racing was on tap for all the fans who packed into the grandstands. With 90 plus cars all ready to take the green flag for the 2013 season, it was an action packed night. The Mini Sprints opened up the season at Macon Speedway with Aaron Andruskevitch taking home the first open wheel checkered flag of the season. Exciting racing action continued in every division with Peoria, IL driver Alan Weisser making his first trip to Macon Speedway taking home the Modiified feature win. Jeremy Nichols from Shelbyville winning the Sportsman feature, John Farris with a great performance tonight to take home the street stock feature. The Outlaw Hornet winner was Decatur native Jeremy Reed and the Stock winner was Zach Leffler. Racing continues next Saturday night

Macon Speedway drivers will have an opportunity to prepare their freshly built cars for the 2013 racing season during the Test N Tune days scheduled for Sunday, March 24 and Saturday, March 30 from 12 to 4 PM. Fans are welcome to view practice and get a glimpse of the new cars.   Admission to the grandstands will be free for the practice days so bring the family, come watch your favorite drivers, grab a hot dog and get ready for the action packed 2013 season at Macon Speedway. All racing divisions are welcome.

The Sixth Annual Spring Fling on April 6 will officially kick off an exciting season of racing at Macon Speedway featuring UMP Modifieds, and Street Stock racing as well as Sportsman, Outlaw Hornet, Stock Hornet and POWRi Mini Sprints. The 2013 schedule showcases a variety of traditional fan favorite special events plus two Nights of NASCAR stars when NASCAR drivers are available for autographs and will even compete with the local favorites.

Macon Speedway’s exciting summer schedule includes the Mueller Dist. Miller Lite Beer Twin 50’s/Late Models and Modifieds on June 15 and  Night of NASCAR Stars II featuring Macon Speedway Co owner Tony Stewart.  The 95Q Firecracker 40’s (plus fireworks) on June 29 will finish June off with a bang and the race will definitely fire things up to start an early celebration for the Independence Day holiday. The ever popular Herald & Review 100, in combination with UMP Summer Nationals, will be held on July 11.

Macon Speedway will also host the POWRi Midgets and Micros several times this year at Macon Speedway.

Macon Speedway would like to announce that the Kids Club will have new and exciting things going on this year in 2013. Details coming soon!

Fans won’t want to miss any of the 29 nights of action at Macon Speedway of racing a full summer of hot weekly racing action every Saturday night combined with an exciting mix of special events. Macon Speedway will run regular weekly racing through the end of September, so bring your family and friends out to the track and experience the hottest ticket in town.

Cody McCarver to appear at Car Show and Timbuktu.

Macon Speedway is proud to have PLC Records recording artist Cody McCarver appear at The Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum/ Macon Speedway Car Show on rt 36 in Decatur, March 23, 2013. Cody will be there from 3pm until 4pm to meet the fans of Macon Speedway in support of the NDRL and Paducah International Raceway “Let’s Get Dirty 75” on March 29th 2013.

If you haven’t heard or seen singer, songwriter, musician, actor,
Cody McCarver lately, well, you just haven’t been looking! The
consummate entertainer, McCarver has just released his new CD
“I Just Might Live Forever” and has made his acting debut in
Lionsgate Films new DVD release “Cole Younger and the Black
Born and raised in Dunlap TN, just outside of Chattanooga,
Cody’s musical career began at age 9 playing piano in a small
church. Cody taught himself to play multiple instruments and at
age 17 his career in Country Music began.
After 12 years in the multi-platinum selling band Confederate
Railroad, performing an average of a 100 shows a year, Cody
stepped out on his own in 2009. He went to Capitol Studios in
Hollywood CA and recorded his first solo CD, simply titled CODY
McCARVER. The self-titled CD was produced by Casaba Petocz,
(John Michael Montgomery, Metallica, Ben Folds) and mixed by
Grammy Award winning engineer, Chris Lord Alge,(Green Day,
Tim McGraw, Hoobastank and more). Little did he know that his

Magazines’ Independent Artist of the year.

Lincoln Speedway, Lincoln, IL and Jacksonville Speedway, Jacksonville, IL have teamed up with Macon Speedway to present this year’s “Midwest Big Ten Series”. The three tracks will host ten big race events on all three tracks.

The car show will take place at The Chevrolet Hall Of Fame Museum on Rt. 36 East in Decatur, IL on Saturday, March 23 starting at 11 a.m. and lasting until 4 p.m. Come and see all the same cars that race at Macon Speedway each and every Saturday night throughout the summer and check out the two-seater, Macon Speedway show car. Macon Speedway to offer Season Pass for the 2013 Race Season

February 6, 2013-Macon, IL- As the 2013 race season draws near, it will begin the 67th consecutive year of racing at Macon Speedway. Macon Speedway is one of the longest operating race facilities in the country. The owners of Macon Speedway are very proud of this distinction and would like to thank all the drivers and fans for making this happen year after year.
maconseasonAs a way to say thank you to those fans, Macon Speedway will be implementing a Season Pass for the 2013 season. Track Co-Owner Bob Sargent says “Macon Speedway has some of the most loyal and dedicated race fans in all of dirt racing”. Macon Speedway is pleased to be able to offer these passes at such a value.
These Season Passes will be bundled in three packages so that the fans can choose which package will best suit their racing experience at Macon Speedway for the 2013 season. The Season Pass will be valid at each and every race event held during the 2013 race season.
