Hard-nosed short track racing filled night at Macon Speedway during Miller Lite Twin 50's

MACON, Ill. -- Now that was a night of hard-nosed racing Saturday that everyone learned to love at Macon Speedway. There was wheel-to-wheel racing, fender banging, finger pointing and good old fashioned short track racing, the kind that built Macon Speedway tradition over the decades.
It started with Bobby Beiler leading all 15 laps in the Street Stocks feature race, but he was hounded by Terry Reed. The thrilling race was just a prelude to the rest of the night that included the Mueller Distributing Miller Lite Beer Twin 50's.
After John Bright Jr. did his best Kyle Busch by giving a bow from the top of his car in victory lane after the Outlaw Hornets feature, the Billingsley Towing Modifieds put on a rough-and-tumble 50-lap feature race that boiled some emotions. When Ethan Schnapp lost the lead on the final lap, Danny Smith of Argenta took advantage to grab the victory and a $700 pay check.
Schnapp rebounded to win the B-Mods before Big Ten Series late models took over the night.
In a star-studded field, Kyle Logue reminded everyone he's a name that shouldn't be overlooked. The former Macon Speedway track champ who went into semi-retirement jumped back into a car and took the lead on a late restart to win the 50-lapper and earn $2,000.
Benjamin McChristy won the Stock Hornet race to end the night, but it feels more like Macon Speedway is just getting up to speed.
Heinkel's Three Dog Night is Saturday, June 21, and the crowd can see a hot dog eating contest while also filling up on dollard dogs. It's also Bud Light Ladies Night with the gals from Woody's in Stock Hornets. On June 28, the 95Q Firecracker 40's features 40-lappers for late models and modifieds.
