Division II Midgets Prepare For Busy Season At Lincoln & Macon

(Macon, IL - 03-08-16) With the dawn of a new year comes the rise of a class of cars known as Division II Midgets. Though not a new class, they are sporting a new name as they were formally known as Lightning Sprints. The Division II class is a combination of economy based midgets, with a stock 2.4 production long block, and lightning sprints.

Full 20+ car fields are expected as they will venture to 9 races at Lincoln Speedway in Logan County and 7 events at the Mighty Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois. With a uniform set of rules and special race day incentives, the class has many excited drivers new and old.

The home track of Lincoln Speedway will have a point fund sponsored by NuTech Seed and also see the return of the front row challenge sponsored by Phil Pickett at Conklin AgroVantage.

Those traveling to Macon as well as Lincoln will be eligible for POWRi national points though it is not mandatory to buy a membership should you not want to run for the national points.

Both Lincoln and Macon Speedway officials are excited to see the enthusiasm that has been shown for Division II Midgets and both are happy to be on the ground floor of a class that is ready to take off around the country.  Both tracks plan to have teching policies in place to keep the division affordable and continue its growth.

Test and tune weekends are coming soon with dates scheduled for April 3rd & 9th at Lincoln Speedway and April 2nd & 10th at Macon Speedway.  All test and tune times are between 12:00-4:00.
