Macon Speedway & Lincoln Speedway 2018 Banquet Date & Location Announced

Big Ten Series To Also Celebrate At January 19 Event

(Macon, IL) With the 2018 racing season in the rear view mirror and drivers looking ahead to 2019, officials from the Track Enterprises office have announced the awards banquet date for Macon Speedway as well as Lincoln Speedway.  This year’s ceremony will include both tracks as well as the three Midwest Big Ten Series. The event will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel.

On the Lincoln Speedway side, Guy Taylor, of Springfield, IL, claimed this year’s Pro Late Model championship. Brian Lynn, of Mason City, IL, edged his son, Austin, in a tight battle for this year’s Modified championship.  In the Nutech Seed DII Midgets by Bailey Chassis class, Mason City’s Andy Baugh will take top honors.  In the Hornet class, Decatur, IL driver, Jeremy Reed, took the championship.

Taylor also claimed the Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Model championship at Macon Speedway, while Tommy Sheppard, Jr. won the BillingsleyRewards.com Modified title.  In B-Mod action, Cody Stilwell of Godfrey, IL will take top honors, while Tim Bedinger, of Taylorville, took the tiebreaker over Scott Williams in the Sportsman class.  In Street Stock action, Shawn Ziemer, of Boody, IL was champion, while Mike Eskew, of Springfield, IL, squeaked a close one out over Jeremy Reed.

Midwest Big Ten Action this year saw New Berlin, IL’s Jose Parga win the Super Late Model championship.  Guy Taylor ended with the clean sweep in Pro Late Model action, winning the Big Ten title in addition to his track championships.  Rounding things out, Lovington, IL’s Jeremy Nichols took yet another Street Stock title.

In addition to the champions, drivers who met the attendance eligibility requirements and finished in the top ten in those classes will also be honored.  Invitations will be sent to those who have awards coming to them at the January 19 affair.  In addition to those being honored, anyone is welcome to attend the banquet including drivers, fans, crew members, officials, and sponsors.

The Decatur Conference Center and Hotel will provide the delicious buffet style meal that includes salad, fried chicken, roast beef, pasta salad, au gratin potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls, and desserts.  Coffee, tea, and water is also included while other drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Cost to attend the banquet is $20 per person for those who call to RSVP with payment by January 14th.  Anyone paying after January 14th will pay $25 per person.  A block of hotel rooms are also available for any guests wishing to stay overnight following the awards ceremony.  Reservations for rooms must be made directly through the hotel.

Doors will open at 6:00 for cocktail hour, dinner will be served at 7:00, and awards will be handed out at 8:00.
