Howell’s Career First Comes at Macon
Macon, IL– In dominating style, Jordan Howell fended off Austin Schaeffer to collect his first-career POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League victory. Starting on the pole with current POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League point leader, Schaeffer, to his outside, Howell jumped into the early lead and led all 20 laps to victory.
With only two cautions slowing the field, Howell was able to keep Schaeffer at a comfortable distance, as Schaeffer tried the bottom, middle, and top of the high-banked fifth mile to no avail. Throughout a majority of the race, the battle for third held most of the attention as Kyle Schuett and Jacob Tipton traded back and forth, only for Schuett to slip back after the final caution and be shuffled back to eighth. Daniel Robinson took fourth, while Tyler Day rounded out the top five.
“I can’t thank everybody enough for coming out and my boss Paver for hooking us up with a great car, and all of our sponsors,” said Jordan Howell. “Everybody that have helped put in time and effort. Driven Midwest, they’ve helped me non-stop. It’s awesome. It’s been too long since I’ve won.”
“Congrats to Jordan Howell, he did a heck of a job,” stated Austin Schaeffer. “I’m surprised I didn’t get into him when he almost spun over there, or did whatever he did. We gave it all we had and the track was fast tonight, so I’m glad for second. It was a good night.”
“These guys never quit,” commented Jacob Tipton. “John and Luke Vaughn, they never quit. My dad, they just never give up. I don’t know where I’d be without these guys, I do know I wouldn’t be here, that’s for sure. It’s just a great racecar and a great night. I can’t be more happy than I am right now.”
