MACON SPEEDWAY TO PRESENT THE HORNET WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RACE SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2013

(Macon, IL)  Macon Speedway will host the Hornet World Championship race this Saturday night, September 7. The night’s UMP Outlaw Hornet race will include a $300 dollar to win purse, plus the Championship trophy.  The Stock Hornets will also be part of the Championship show, competing for the top trophy in their division. Also on the racing card for this Saturday will be the Billingsley Towing UMP Modified, UMP Sportsman, UMP Street Stocks, UMP 4-cyl. Outlaw Hornets, Stock Hornets and USAC Ignite Midgets. 

The Macon Speedway point’s races are heating up as we enter the final month of racing in 2013 at Macon Speedway. The UMP Modified race is still up in the air with Guy Taylor in the lead with Danny Smith close behind with only 44 points between the two.  The UMP Sportsman division is also a tight race with Decatur’s David Crawley, Jr. only 34 points in front of Argenta’s Nick Macklin.  The Street Stock drivers will hope to gain ground this weekend as the season draws to a close soon.  Gene Reed leads the other field of drivers edging out Bobby Beiler.  The UMP Outlaw Hornet division is being lead by Adam Webb and the Stock Hornet division finds Mike McChristy on top driving his number 66 hornet.  Don’t miss the racing action in the month of September to see who will be the next driver to be crowned “Macon Speedway Champion�.

Gates will open at 5pm with racing beginning at 7pm. Adult general admission tickets are $12 and kids 11 & under are still free.

Macon Speedway upcoming events:

Macon Speedway will race on September 14 with the Billingsley Towing UMP Modifieds, UMP Sportsman, UMP Street Stocks, UMP 4-cyl. Outlaw Hornets and Stock Hornets.

Macon Speedway and Decatur Memorial Hospital will host the POWRi Midgets and Micros, plus Billingsley Towing UMP Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, UMP Street Stocks, UMP 4-cyl. Outlaw Hornets and Stock Hornets on Saturday, September 21.

The final race of the season will be on September 28th with regular racing featuring the Billingsley Towing UMP Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, UMP Sportsman, UMP Street Stocks, UMP 4-cyl. Outlaw Hornets and Stock Hornets.

Macon Speedway is located 9 miles south of Decatur, IL on US 51 then 1/2 mile west on Andrews Street, then South on Wiles.
